Scroll-stop teardown
HUFThe homepage
What it's trying to do
The homepage has to sell the current delivery and the two live collabs while still reading like a skate brand rather than a catalog. Everything on it is downstream of that, because the reason anyone watches HUF is the taste behind the picks, not the bottoms.
What works
The WHAT!? post for Spitfire is written by a person. "Teamed up with one of the best in the game, Spitfire has been a staple in skateboarding since 1987 from our hometown in San Francisco so we came correct with latest collaboration." Nobody at a bigger brand lets "came correct" through legal. That's the right voice in the right place.
The Collections menu also names every collab outright. Spitfire, Spider-Man, PROCLUB, Krink, Kenny Scharf, Metal Gear Solid. That's an archive, and it's browsable.
Three fixes
-
the collab gets the same banner as the bottoms
The homepage runs six banners. huf Fall '26 Delivery One, BOTTOMS, TOPS, GRAPHIC TEES, huf x Spitfire, huf x Spider-Man. Every one is a title and a Shop Now. Same type, same button, same weight.
So Spitfire lands exactly like a pants category. The collab is the thing people showed up for and the page has no way to say so.
The copy already exists. The SF and 1987 line is sitting on the WHAT!? post from July 31. Put one sentence of it under each collab banner. Two collabs, two sentences, no shoot required.
the drop reads as a drop instead of a shelf.
-
everything authored is filed under "More"
The top nav is three items: Shop, More, Sale. Behind More sits About, "What!?", Videos, Team, T1-KCUF Radio.
The team, the video work, the radio, and the entire news archive all live under a word that means "other stuff."
WHAT!? has posted twelve times since April, roughly one per drop. The homepage links to none of them. Do the cheap half first: put the newest post on the homepage above Best Sellers, with its date on it. Then give that menu a real name.
the proof that the drops are authored stops hiding behind the vaguest word in the nav.
-
the page has no headings
Every section title on the homepage is a div. "Best Sellers" is one. So is "huf x Spitfire." There is no H1, no H2, no H3 anywhere in the document. The only real headings on the page are the three footer column labels: Customer Loyalty, About, Contact Us.
There's no structured data either. No Organization block, no product markup, nothing.
And the one sentence on the whole page that names a human being is the meta description: "Official HUF Worldwide website by founder Keith Hufnagel." A crawler reads that. A visitor never does.
Make the section titles headings, give the page one H1, add the schema. Theme edit, not a rebuild.
search and the answer engines can finally tell what the page is, and Keith's name moves somewhere people can see it.
What I'd make instead
The archive is the asset. Kuumba International, WHATMORE, momotoys, Kenny Scharf, U.S. Soccer, Krink, PROCLUB, Spider-Man, Spitfire. Nine picks since April, each announced in a paragraph and then gone.
Nobody has made the piece about the picking. Somebody in that building decided Kenny Scharf and momotoys belonged in the same year, and that judgment is the actual product. One film about how a collab gets chosen, shot in the room where it gets chosen, with the names of the people who said yes.
A competitor can chase the same partners. Nobody else has that room.
All three are yours to run without me. If one of them lands I'll send the rest of the read. If not, no reply needed.
