How to be removed

Email hello@boringstories.io with the phone number or address you want off our list. You don't owe us a reason. "Stop contacting us" is enough.

Or call (323) 422-2593 and tell us. Email leaves a record, so it's the surer route, but either one works.

You can also just say it to whoever contacted you. Out loud on a call, written in a reply, left in a voicemail, passed along by a coworker: it counts the same. If a reasonable person would hear it as "leave us alone," that's what we act on.

What it covers

Jason Portillo runs four businesses: Boring Stories, Boring Solutions, Boring Labs, and Portillo Technologies. Ask one of them to stop and all four stop. You shouldn't have to learn our corporate structure to be left alone.

Phone and email are one list. There's no version of this where we quit calling and keep emailing.

A request covers your whole company by default, not only the person who asked. Tell us if you want it narrowed to one person instead.

How fast

Same business day. The law allows longer. We don't use the allowance.

How long it lasts

Permanently. We keep removal requests and never delete them, because deleting one is how a company ends up calling somebody who already said no. The only way back onto the list is to ask us yourself.

How we call

When we do call, this is what we hold ourselves to.

A person dials and a person talks. No autodialers, no recorded voices, no ringless voicemail, no cold texts.

We don't record cold calls.

Calls happen between 8:00 a.m. and 9:00 p.m. in your local time, never outside it. Every number is checked against the National Do Not Call Registry before we dial it.
